Dara Engineering Consultants is a Grade “A” Architecture and Engineering Consultancy firm, based in Qatar, approaching 25 years of experience.
Our scope of work covers both; Pre and Post Contract phases of each project, ranging from pre-concept to detailed design stages. As well as supervision and project management in the execution phase of the design.
Dara Engineering’s services are specialized in Urban planning, Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Design, Quantity Surveying, Cost Control, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and HVAC services, in addition to Project and Construction Management.
Our Story
Back in 1999, a passionate, young architect named Islam Shaheen had a vision of creating a renowned company, that would shape the skyline of Qatar. With a team of determined professionals, Dara Engineering Consultants was established, and Architect Islam began working on his first project; a commercial building in the heart of Doha.

Over the years, Dara Engineering Consultants grew alongside Qatar's rapid development, completing numerous high-profile projects for clients in both the public and private sectors. In the early days, the company did extensive work not only in Qatar, but also in neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Dara’s reputation grew for its well-known innovative design concepts, and exceptional engineering solutions resulting in a satisfied and rapidly expanding client base until this day.

​Dara Engineering Consultants takes pride in its contributions in the development of modern cities in Qatar. The company took on projects of all sizes and types; from high-rise buildings and commercial complexes, to mosques, hospitality venues, educational institutes and master mega developments.
Along this journey, Dara’s continuous dedication was recognized winning numerous awards and accolades over the years; including the prestigious "Best Architectural and Engineering Consultancy Firm" from internationally acclaimed Global Business Insights in 2017, In addition to “Sustained Excellence in Architectural & Engineering Consultancy Services and Best Interior Design Consultancy” awarded by the Middle East Awards in 2018. These awards are a testament to the company's commitment to delivering exceptional engineering services and exceeding client expectations.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Dara Engineering Consultants. Over the past 23 years I have seen Dara grow from the ground up to become the family of over 200 architects, engineers, and skilled professionals that we are today. Over the years I have had the privilege of working with a team of talented people who share my unwavering passion for architecture and engineering. Strong artistic background and futuristic vision on architectural expressions, have defined Dara’s unique style blending architecture and engineering with the brush strokes of simplicity, clearness, elementary, essentiality, purity, and minimalism with preference for primary forms and compact volumes.
Dara has expressed those architectural notes throughout all of our designs and developments in line with the combination of local and international architectural trends. We are honored that our contributions have helped shape the Qatar skyline over the years while earning architectural recognitions and awards throughout our journey.
